(Press Release) RE-Live! 2009 “Rethinking the way you live”
On World Environment Day 2009, which falls on 5 June 2009, Environmental Challenge Organisation (Singapore) or ECO Singapore, will launch the environmental event - RE-Live! 2009.
ECO Singapore is the leading youth social enterprise advocating sustainable lifestyles for youths in Singapore and the region.
In 2008, ECO Singapore organised the inaugural RE-Live! event in Singapore at The Atrium, Plaza Singapura, engaging around 20,000 members of the public over the span of 11 days with the effort of more than 200 student volunteers.
For 2009, the occasion will be celebrated at Bugis Junction from 5-7 June 2009.
RE-Live! 2009 will focus on six themes in line with ECO Singapore’s approach in environmental sustainability, namely water, waste, biodiversity, shelter, food and energy. These six areas are encountered in almost every aspect of a person's daily life, particularly in our consumption habits. Through a series of exhibitions and events, a total of 200 youth volunteers will encourage members of the public to live a sustainable living lifestyle through making more informed choices. It is expected that around 30,000 members of the public will be engaged.
Notable events during the three day event include activities like “Follow Me”, “Live Green Mass Action”, Green Walk, and an Aerial Photography mass exercise.
Corporate sponsors and partners for the event include Capitaland, the National Environmental Agency (NEA) and the Public Utilities Board (PUB).
