We are seeking volunteers who are keen to get involved in organising the Earth Hour (Singapore) 2009 effort.

We will be expected to work at an even larger scale than last year's, so we will need YOU to be able to commit all the way.

Available positions:

• Project Chair-person
• Project Co-Chair
• Directors
  • Schools Coordinator
  • Events/Programme
  • Launch Ceremony
  • Marketing/Sponsorship

Directors will need to form their sub-committees upon taking office.

Qualities we are looking for:

• Passionate about conservation and the environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (or similar)
• Able to maintain grace and calm under challenging conditions
• Able to function independently and with initiative
• Must have gone through ECO Singapore's Volunteer Induction Programme
• Possess a good sense of humour, a healthy dose of common sense and understand the dynamics of operating within a closely knit team

Commitment Period (minimum): August 2008 to April 2009

You will be expected to attend the majority of the meetings. Meeting schedule:

• Before event — at least once a month
• Closer to event — twice a month
• One month before event — weekly

Also, depending on the need, we may have to meet up several times a week.

All interested volunteers will need to be interviewed for any of the above positions.

Selected volunteers will also need to go through our Volunteer Induction Programme (VIP) to give you a good understanding of the organisation. This is held every third Saturday of each month. There will be a VIP session on the day of the interview, 23 August 2008, from 3-5pm at ECO Sphere.
