Hi all,

Recall the first and last meeting we had in Wilson's bus, Chia chia had in plans about building an eco house. As time goes by, opportunities arose that i think wes hould try to grab. Below is my conversation exchange with chia chia over msn. you'll understand what possibilities i'm trying to cook up after reading. 'says' is chia chia, her coffee cup cannot be pasted.

albert says:

hi chia chia

says:

hullo! long time no see. hoe r u?

albert says:

same old pattern lo

albert says:

u still remember the last time we met at wilson's bus and there was a plan of building a eco house?

albert says:

one that wilson tried to applied some grant, but didn't got it?

says:

ya...still trying to get it going but SW CDC hasn't been coming back

says:

u got lobang?

albert says:

n olobang for money

albert says:

but i helped out wilson recently for the ndp cleanup, there was a bunch of other volunteers, i found them to be a bunch of very energetic and self-initiated young ppl

albert says:

so i'm proposing to wilson to harness their energy for your house

albert says:

think we can get them up as a team and do a YEP kind of project locally, for that house

says:

now is $$$ matter

albert says:

yup, but i think we should not be uni-dependent on grants, with those ppl, fundraisers can be done

albert says:

think thats a more practical way of moving forward instead of waiting for money to fall

albert says:

wad do u think?

says:

r they all students?

says:

from diff schools?

albert says:

i told wilson i'm willing to be the 'leader' of that 'YEP' team if he's able to get more than ten of them interested

albert says:

from polys and unis

says:

great!

says:

but when r u targetin it for?

albert says:

if things goes that far, then i'll handle the management part, u'll have to be the architect

albert says:

according to wad was aired during the discussion in the bus last time, u did not mention a time frame for the building

albert says:

but since it's going to be a YEP-style thing, i forsee a period of more intensive work which requires the whole team to be working onsite for a week or two

albert says:

that might be in december, depending on the school schedule of the majority. but december is highly likely

albert says:

therefore from now till then will be 'pre-ex' lo, prep for money, eqpt, knowledge, group dynamics

says:

will still need to bring in skilled workers to do groundwork n install certain items...volunteers can be engaged in not jus construction but other aspects eg. programme, software etc for a more holistic n sustainable approach

albert says:

yup, the programs remain to be worked out.

albert says:

wad was your projection of the cost again?

albert says:

below 20k in total per house?

says:

approx 27K

says:

think we can check out if there're any grants for youth initiated projects too cos tis yr the emphasis is on youths

albert says:

wad do u think of this whole thing in principle?

says:

i've believed i it all along...jus that hasn't been getting gd response for volunteers / funding

says:

maybe with ur lead, things will get going

albert says:

ok, in that case, we'll have wilson do his magic in presenting a good cause of this project, and we'll move on from there

albert says:

mind if i post this conversation to the ppl present in the bus meeting?

says:

no prob at all

albert says:

keep everyone in the loop and i'm sure more will be able to suggest and contribute

albert says:

k, keep in touch

says:

yup!

SmileUp!

Albert
